Our next stop on the Brooke’s Bitchin’ virtual road trip is West Virginia – The Mountain State! Known for its Appalachian peaks,

colorful fall landscapes, and rich history, this stop is full of inspiration for quilters and adventurers alike.

For the cover quilt of the West Virginia pattern, I couldn’t resist the magic of fall in the mountains. I chose batik fabrics in bold reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and browns to reflect the gorgeous foliage the state is known for. Batiks add depth and texture that mimic the layers of leaves changing with the season — they feel alive, just like the mountain views.
