My Quilty Journey: Falling in Love with Pixelated Quilt Patterns

Hey there, quilting friends! Welcome to the Brooke's Bitchin' Stitches Blog—I’m Brooke, and I'm so excited you've decided to stop by and get to know the quilter behind the stitches!

I started quilting about seven years ago, but honestly, creativity has been my jam for as long as I can remember. I’ve jumped headfirst into all sorts of crafty adventures—cake decorating, making delicious chocolates, playing with paper and vinyl crafts—you name it, I’ve probably tried it! But quilting? Quilting has completely stolen my heart. Especially pixelated quilting and creating pixelated quilt patterns!

You might be wondering, "Why pixelated quilts, Brooke?" Well, let me take you back to my childhood for a second. Remember Legos? Those tiny, colorful bricks with the super-satisfying instructions? I was obsessed! Designing and piecing pixelated quilts feels exactly like assembling a giant Lego masterpiece to me, and I love every minute of it.

Quilting is way more than just a hobby—it's my happy place. Each quilt I make has its own personality, its own story, and honestly, its own little celebration when I finally stitch that last piece in place! Whether I’m planning, designing, or putting the finishing touches on a quilt, every step makes me smile. (And don't even get me started on fabric collecting...is there such a thing as too much fabric? Definitely not!)

I grew up near Detroit, Michigan, but for the past 17 years, I've been living in

Western North Carolina with my husband Eric and our lovable, wild fur baby, Remington. When I’m not at my sewing machine, you’ll probably find me binge-watching Netflix, buried in a good book, or hitting the road with my family. Our vacations usually involve quilts or Jeep rock-crawling adventures, because why not combine all the things I love?

I'm so thrilled to have you along for this quilting ride. This blog is where I’ll be sharing tons of tips, stories, laughs, and all things quilty. So grab your favorite cozy drink, pull up a comfy chair, and let's get stitching!

Happy Quilting,

Brooke
