Rest Stop: Mini Quilt, Big Feels

A Tiny Thank You with a Whole Lotta Love

Every other week on Brooke’s Bitchin’ Road Trip, we pull over from our state quilt adventures for a quick Rest Stop — a moment to breathe, snack, and dive into whatever’s under my sewing machine needle at the moment.

And this week? It’s a small-but-mighty project that means the world to me. 💕


💍 A Special Stitch for a Special Celebration

Back in December, my husband Eric and I renewed our vows in gorgeous Jamaica. It was a dreamy, joy-filled moment that I’ll never forget.

But what really made it unforgettable? The amazing woman who planned and organized our entire vow renewal. She went above and beyond to make sure everything felt personal, meaningful, and magical.

So of course… I had to say thank you the best way I know how: with a quilt. 🧵

Since we incorporated my newly released Pixelated Love quilt pattern into our ceremony, I made her a mini version of the same design — a quilted keepsake from our day, made just for her.

This was one of those soul-filling makes that reminded me why I quilt in the first place. I loved every second of it.

I pieced and quilted the mini on my domestic Baby Lock Altair, keeping the quilting sweet and simple with straight lines running vertically, giving the quilt a subtle pinstripe look that feels modern but classic.

And the backing? I picked a light gray fabric with a hint of metallic shimmer — just enough sparkle to make it feel extra special (but still soft and elegant).

There’s something so powerful about creating a quilt that’s small in size but big on meaning.
